The Collegiate Church of St. Medardo
The imposing building houses real masterpieces of art: two extraordinary works by the great Renaissance artist Luca Signorelli, the Polyptych of S. Medardo (1507) and the Baptism of Christ (1508); the monumental glazed terracotta dossal Madonna and Child between Saints John the Baptist and Jerome (1510-1513) by Giovanni della Robbia, prominent exponent of the famous Florentine workshop; the wooden furnishings of the master carvers Leonardo Scaglia and Francesco Giglioni, who work here between 1647 and 1650; the numerous works of Ercole Ramazzani, a local artist pupil of Lorenzo Lotto, including the Baptism of Christ (1593) and the Last Judgment (1597), and many others. The Church owes its name to a relic of St. Medardo, donated to the Community of Rocca Contrada (ancient name of Arcevia) by the Emperor Charlemagne.
Church of Saint Agatha
Tiny Church on Corso Mazzini, designed by architect Arceviese Andrea Vici. The interior has a central plan, with a dome that soars the proportions of the building.
Si può ammirare una tela del Seicento di Claudio Ridolfi il Veronese, raffigurante l’incoronazione della Vergine da parte della Santissima Trinità con San Giovanni Evangelista e Sant’Agata.
